Family is at the heart of our business

Wilson Buildings' proud history began back in 2002 with father Lawrence Wilson and his son Garry.

Since then Garry, together with his sister Carol, have built on the strong foundation and guidance given by their father to grow Wilson Building into one of South Canterbury's premier building firms.

The family-focus is integral to all aspects of the company, ensuring a strong and dynamic team with passion and pride in all aspects of their work. Challenges are never seen as an obstacle and more as a chance to think outside the square and use expertise and knowledge to achieve the results required.

Most recently, our team was instrumental in our success in the 2021 Mid & South Canterbury House of the Year awards – winning Supreme House of the Year and Supreme Renovation of the Year.

Garry Wilson

Garry served his apprenticeship over 25 years ago under his father Lawrence and is still one of the most passionate builders in the industry. His attention to detail and insistence on quality craftmanship is a large factor in Wilson Building's award-winning position in the industry. In addition Garry’s extensive knowledge, vision and can-do attitude are ideal attributes when it comes to addressing any building complexity.

Carol Wilson

Carol, Garry's sister, is the other half of the business. Her easy-going attitude, caring nature and knowledge of the building sector keeps the business running smoothly. You will find Carol's strengths really start to shine during the build process where her building knowledge ensures that she is able to answer any of your questions. In addition Carol thrives on making certain that clients are kept informed and up to date throughout any building project.

Hammy

Hammy has been part of the Wilson Building team since 2003, completing his apprenticeship by 2007, and returning to the company after taking some time off for overseas travel in 2012. His role now consists of project managing all jobs, assisting and helping with the foreman and ensuring all work is completed the 'Wilson Way'. As a valued team member, Hammy brings a wealth of knowledge and understands the value of hard work and strives to lead his team by example.
