Canterbury Plains

project description

This house was built for the amazing views across the Southern Alps and the Canterbury Plains. Situated on a property with areas of significant landscape zoning, a Resource Consent was required for any building work to occur on the site. The design needed to accommodate visiting family and friends, for farming activities and as a comfortable retreat from the elements of an exposed site. The house is essentially divided into 3 "wings". A private wing, a public wing and a service wing, all surrounding a central courtyard
