Mountain High

The site is located within an outstanding natural landscape. Site selection was a balance between trying to find expansive views, protection from the cold southerly winds and satisfying Council consenting requirements. The owners wanted a rustic mountain house that could be used in both the winter and summer.

challenges

Site was covered in snow for ten weeks, requiring us to regularly plough the road before getting access to the site.

The ground was frozen for 4 months, resulting in digging the trenches and holes by hand.
